- Julie Kribb's Decorating Caps On!!!
Welcome, new student interior designers!! The classroom is home to most of us throughout the week. It's your room just as much as it is the teacher's room, which means you should have some say in how it is set up and decorated. So, get your creative decorating caps on because you have a mission? With your group, you will be taken through a variety of steps to get you ready to come up with a new floor plan for our classroom. Using what we already have in our classroom, plus a little more, your group will compete against other groups in class to have the best ideas. Based on class vote and teacher consent, the best idea will be implemented into our classroom!
- Paul Long's Sports and Numbers
Algebra and Word Problems can be fun if we stop worrying about the numbers and relate them to something we are interested in. If you like sports, you will love this exercise!
- Kristen McQueen's Gardening for Goodies
Your friend has asked you to go to Disneyland at the end of the summer. Your parents agree to let you go if you earn the cost of the trip. Your grandpa agrees to give you a piece of land for grawing vegetables and $100 for startup costs. The only catch is you have to grow the garden yourself. Thus, you have to find all the supplies (seeds, fertilizer, compost, pesticide) and you must research to find tips in growing your vegetables. The local farmer's market has agreed to buy your produce when harvested.
- Natalie Maltman's Music Madness
A relative gave you $100 to spend on Compact Discs. She said that you could get as many CDx that you wanted with that money. Her only stipulation was that you had to buy all of your CDs from one online retailer. You want to get the most for your money. Your assignment is to compare online CD retailers to find the cheapest CDs.
- Amy Nolan's Road Trip
You are going to take a trip to wherever you would like to go with whoever you would like to take. You will be given a certain amount of money and then a certain price for gas the entire trip. However, there are a few catches to this wonderful trip. You must figure out where all of your money will be going and keep a journal of it. You also need to keep a comparison chart on hand of each hotel and car rental you compared. After all of that you also need to mention what you will be doing about food. The final thing is to print out a map of the road that you will be taking on your trip. Have a wonderful time!
