Kappa
Mu Epsilon (KME)
Kappa Mu Epsilon is a national
mathematics honor society. The organization was founded by Dr.
Emily Kathryn Wyant at Northeastern Oklahoma State College in 1931 to
encourage and honor undergraduate students who were good in
mathematics. The organization has grown to over 128 chapters in
colleges and universities throughout the country. EKU established
the first chapter of KME in Kentucky in 1971. Since that time,
there have been 640 students at EKU inducted into this national honor
society. Students regularly attend local, regional, and
biennial national conventions. Some students give talks at these
meetings. The national web page can be found at KME National Page and the
local web
page can be found at Kentucky
Alpha Page. The current Pentagon Problem Corner is Spring 2008
