A.B. Carter Building

The Carter building is so named in honor of Ashby B. Carter, a dairy science pioneer, who used his belief in the work ethic to develop himself, his students, and the institution. The 1929 Milestone was dedicated to him and includes the caption "To A. B. Carter, B. S. Whose kind interest and persistent effort have brought much good to the college". He served Eastern for 38 years. The Carter building was constructed in 1970 and houses the Department of Agriculture. Along side the Carter building are the Department's greenhouse and turf plot facilities.
