Hughes Field is named to honor Charles T. "Turkey" Hughes, a Todd County native
and member of the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame. At Eastern, he coached five
sports (as many as three at the same time), served 23 years as Director of
Athletics and 27 years as Chairman of the Department of Health and Physical
Education. Hughes Field is the home field for the EKU Varsity
Baseball Team
