Moore Building

Memorial Science Building

The Moore Building is named for Dr. W.J. Moore who came to Eastern in 1913 as a 19-year-old freshman, and retired in 1965 after 52 years' association with the University - 30 years as a teacher and 20 years as a Dean. The building, constructed in 1968, contains 10,000 square feet of space, including two lecture rooms named for outstanding science faculty members, Dr. Harvey LaFuze and Dr. J. G. Black. The Moore building was added onto the Memorial Science building, constructed in 1952, which is located directly behind it. These two buildings house the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The Science Learning Resource Center is also located in the Memorial Science Building.
