I have been talking to my kindergarten class about how smart they are and they are going to college. During our "Near and Far" Social Studies unit we have been taking virtual trips. We visited WKU and today we visited your campus. Hopefully in the future one of my mathematicians or scientists will enroll at your school in 2021. :) When you update the site I would like to suggest that you put some inside photos in also. My students loved to see in the buildings at WKU. Thanks for your time.

As a potential student from CT, I was very interested in seeing pictures of the campus. I searched the website but was unable to find many. I finally put "virtual tour" in the search engine and stumbled upon this tour. It was great. I have a much better idea of what the campus looks like and I'm now looking forward to seeing it in person. I would suggest a link to this tour on the home page or in the Visit section of the Admissions page.

This was a very enjoyable tour providing an opportunity for me to see the beauty of the various buildings and areas of campus as well as to learn the historical background of each. Each and all involved with this endeavor has a right to feel proud of the accomplishment. One suggestion I have, which would require a lapse of time, i.e., winter through spring, is to have pictures of each photographed subject taken both in the extremes of winter season and the more robust, lush late spring. This would allow those taking the tour an opportunity to take in the wide range of beauty from the pristine snow blanketed winter to the more robust, lush late spring. Each would be beautiful in its own way, while capturing the awe inspiring, breathe taking view of both seasons. As someone who grew up in cold-winter Ohio but who now resides in The City Beautiful, Orlando, FL, I would fully appreciate both views of these august images.

I am a 1988 graduate of EKU with a B.S. degree in applied mathematics and a minor in statistics. I want to share with the department and any who are considering attending EKU, that my education from EKU has served me well. I have held many lead roles at the Defense Department within the field of Operations Research. I often have found thoughts of Dr. Ron Pierce and Dr. Amy King. They are dedicated professionals and provided me with a solid education. I am certain that education was vital to my success. And I am certain that their dedication runs throughout the department.

Cathy,
Thanks for your nice comments. I sent them on to Ron & Amy to enjoy. We have an alumni page. When you get a chance, add your entry to it. Thanks again!

There are lot of new faces, too! I spent a total of 7 yrs in Richmond at EKU, it was a second hometown. I found out about my current position (Math Instructor at New River Community College, Dublin, VA) because of an email I received from Patti Costello who had forwarded it to me from EKU Career Services. It's a great job, thanks for your help! Rachel Scott BS(1996) MS (2000)

Hi-Really enjoyed the pictures and must say I'm astounded at how (visually) so very little, seems to have changed in the past "20" some odd years since I attended Eastern and lived so happily in Richmond. I got there in "74" lived on and off campus and worked at the local theatre and a college bar (when it opened),J.Sutter's Mill. Anyhow, the photos really make me feel at home! We went on a tour of the campus with my brother who is an alumni, but this gave us an inside view of the buildings such as dorms. My oldest son is considering EKU and this was a great beginning!

Debra, Glad you all enjoyed the tour. Best of luck to your son in selecting a university. If we can be of any help, let us know.

I found your tour to be quite helpful. It gave me a chance to really see what the campus looks like. I also am glad I was able to see inside the residence halls. Thanks!

Great work!!! Has Eastern come a long way or what???? As an alumnae of EKU it is wonderful to see "The Campus Beautiful" via technology. Seeing the campus brought back a lot of warm memories. Boy, have the dorms changed, coed???!!! Certainly gives the perspective student a wonderful view of EKU. Thanks for the great work. Double check how Millian or Million is spelled on the slide and on the left column of the screen. One of those words is misspelled.

Reply:
It's Million. Thanks for finding that one and for your nice comments about the tour.

The tour of your college is a good one but, I think you could have got a picture from a helicopter of the whole campus area. That would show everything in it's place and what it is near.

Lindsay, thanks for your comment about the virtual tour of EKU. There are some panoramas of the campus at http://www.eku.edu/panoramas/. The last one on that page is a nice panoramic view of the campus taken from the top of Commonwealth Hall.

I graduated from EKU with a B.S. in computer Science back in 1989. It was the best experience I had in any school. I have attended two other schools for graduate work and there is no comparison. Keep up the good work. Greenwell, Fields, Costello, Rink, Schnare, Rezae, and all the other instructors. Take care. Muse
