Eastern Kentucky University Alpha Chapter Kappa Mu Epsilon 2001 to 2002

Membership:
    Local membership is open to all interested students.  National membership is by invitation to students with an overall GPA of 3.0, a math GPA of 3.0, at least 9 hours of math courses including Calculus, and 45 hours overall.

Activities for 2001-2002:
    Meetings are held about once a month.  Some meetings will have speakers on topics in the mathematical sciences.  Other special events for this year have and will include:

• December meeting :    December 10, 2001
•             White Elephant Christmas Party
• January meeting:         January 30, 2002
•              Election of new President and plans for attending regional convention
•              at Mississippi State on March 22-23, 2002
• February meeting:       February 27, 2002
•             Talk by Shawn Clift on "The RSA Method for Encryption"
• March meeting:           March 27, 2002
•             Initiation of new members
•             Talk by Dr. Frank O'Connor on "Uses of Mathematics in Economics"
• April meeting:              April 24, 2002
•             Talk by Gregg Hewins on "Graphing Complex-Valued Functions"
